Matt Chat 236: Brenda Romero on Sexism in the Games Industry

In this episode, Brenda Romero, the Gloria Steinem of the games industry, zeroes in on the key problems facing women gamers and developers: sexism, sexism, and more sexism. Booth babes, chain mail bikinis, and lack of healthy avatar options are all just symptoms of a much broader problem.

Warning: I’ve done my best to censor out the adult language in this episode, but my apologies if any managed to slip through.

So I guess they hire sexist jerks too: Check out this guy on Twitter: Borisof007, he’s apparently a new recruiter for Zynga who uses his personal Twitter account to connect with people/candidates but I scrolled through his page and he also encourages women to be sluts? As he is a ‘proud slut’ himself? He chats with countless ‘cam girls’ and follows porn stars too? Why the hell would I want to work for a company where someone can be so sexist without any barrier between professionalism and personal life?
